The Long Island Premier to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Dodgers move from Brooklyn. August 31 and September 1 & 2 for Airport Playhouse

"The Winner: A Brooklyn Fable", a new musical with book by Ines Basso Glick and Annmarie Fabricatore, music and lyrics by Stanley Glick, takes us back to that fateful summer and fall when a community’s faith is tested.

It is the summer of 1957.  Brooklyn has been home to Ebbetts Field, dem Bums and the Morelli family.  But that may all change.

"The Winner" spins the tale of Domenick Morelli, second generation Brooklynite, barbershop owner, husband, father and life-long Dodgers’ fan.  However, like Brooklyn, Domenick is a man under siege.  For it appears that both his treasures want out of Brooklyn:  The Dodgers and his daughter.  How can he convince them to stay?  Perhaps a $140, 000 win in the Irish Sweepstakes might make the impossible possible.  It is, after all, a fable.

"The Winner" will remind you of Brooklyn and a world that used to be, before emails, cell phones, bi-coastal living and the Designated Hitter changed the course of history.
